Title: My Quilting Evolution through the Years

Cathy Hamilton will be presenting a trunk show of many of the quilts she has created over the past 50 years.

Cathy Hamilton is an award-winning quilter, born and raised south of Ottawa. She learned to sew at 4-H when she was 12 and has never looked back. She made her first quilts in her early teens and took a break for a while then went back to quilting in earnest in the mid-90’s. She retired from her government day job in 2010 to work at feeding her soul, instead of her pocket book. Cathy is currently the manager of Sew-Jos, an outstanding LQS (local quilt shop) in Manor Park. She also teaches embroidery software plus sewing and quilting classes at Sew-Jo’s and other local shops and retreats. She is perhaps best known for the Stitcher’s Garden classes and creating her similar Friendship Garden pattern which carried her love of machine embroidery into quilting, having taught these classes many times.
